Throughout our lives, our neural networks are reorganizing and reinforcing. In computer language we call this process “input”, while a doctor might say “stimuli”, and a teacher would call them "learning experiences". Whatever name we use, the best way to describe how our brain works is “use it or lose it” Think about a road system: Our brain is constantly checking if there are enough ‘roads’ for the traffic. A two-lane road can handle less traffic than a road with more lanes, with more connections. More traffic volume leads to more roads, so congestion's can be avoided. Direct roads without a detour accelerate our thinking. |

EEG net to measure brain waves Our brain grows, builds new connections when we train it, when we learn, when we open our mind. Our brain shrinks, loses connections when we close our eyes for new input, for new knowledge. Scientists call this process ‘body-mind interaction’. This action is what stimulates brain cells to grow and connect with each other in many complex ways. They do so by extending branches of intricate nerve fibers called dendrites – Greek dendron for "tree" Imagine, what more ‘tree branches’, more connections in our brain could do to the world surrounding us. Everything would become more interesting. People would enjoy talking and communicating more, enjoy a greater depth of appreciation for certain things, gain more insight into life and generally would enlighten people’s life. A constantly updated education will allow us to pursue activities and careers that most interest us, not just those we've been led to believe we're mentally capable of! |

Smarter humans would also be healthier and longer-living, the scientists said, because they'd have a better grasp of what behavior leads to these positive attributes. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and even more, managing a chronic illness such as diabetes, can be quite cognitively challenging. That's the sort of challenge that a brain open to new learning experiences can be enabled to meet. There's a very good chance that higher-functioning brains would help us invent technologies to fix some of our bigger problems. A team of 10 well educated engineers that is capable to "think outside the box" is more likely to come up with a remarkable innovation than a team of 10 engineers that just can use the knowledge taught during their university time. People with constantly updated knowledge, who able to see the ‘bigger picture’ might figure out a hyper-efficient way to desalinate saltwater, to produce less CO2, to capture the thawing methane ice, or tap more efficiently into a limitless alternative-energy source. |

Outdated knowledge is the most pervasive threat to the Earth today. It is our responsibility, our joy, our conquest to explore, to discover, to be able to help! Responsibility is born when the love, the feeling of care for others grows stronger than the love for yourself." Peter Bonenberger Well educated people look better! A study from Harvard University found a significant correlation between peoples' test scores and how physically attractive other people rate them to be. So, let’s work together for a better world, a better life, and better looking people! We have tried to give you a little glimpse of the human brain. Sign in to learn more!
