Cardinal Cardinalis Cardinalis
There are many birds that belong to the Cardinalidae family.|
Northern Cardinal pairs remain together the whole year,
cardinals do not migrate!
May we introduce: Mr. and Mrs. Cardinal
But sometimes you can see a cardinal taking a bath
Northern Cardinal females build the nest while the male keeps a close eye on her and the surrounding territory for predators and other males. The female will be the only one incubating the eggs. The males duty during this time is to feed her on the nest and protect their territory from intruders. Northern Cardinals lay 2-5 eggs. ..
Northern Cardinal, Cardinalis cardinalis
What does an adult cardinal look like:
A male is red with black markings
It has a robust, strong bill
It has a black throat but its rump is red
The female is light reddish-brown colored
