George Washington 1st president of US
In God we trust
James Madison 4th US president
"Knowledge will forever govern ignorance
and a people who mean to be their own governors
must arm themselves with the power
which knowledge gives!"
James Madison was the fourth President of the United States from 1809-1817.|
He grew up in Orange County, Virginia and attended Princeton College.
Madison was a student of history where he learned about Locke, Montesquieu, and he studied government, and law.
A distinct honor, Madison took part in the framing of the 1776 Virginia Constitution
Later Madison served in the Continental Congress and the Virginia Assembly.
1751 - 1836
born at Belle Grove Plantation
Port Conway Virginia
His father was plantation owner
Madison worked with Alexander Hamilton and John Jay,
helping to ratify the Constitution through the writing
of the "Federalist" essays.
His ideas influenced the US Bill of Rights.
"This country and this people seem to have been made for each other, and it appears as if it was the design of Providence, that an inheritance so proper and convenient for a band of brethren ... should never be split into a number of unsocial, jealous, and alien sovereignty." The Federalist papers became so important to the American Polity because of their input into shaping the Constitution with a Unitary Executive, the idea of a Vice president, after the utter failure of the Articles of Federation.
The Federalist papers became so important to the American Polity because of their input into shaping the Constitution with a Unitary Executive, the idea of a Vice president, after the utter failure of the Articles of Federation.
Because of the ideas of the American founding fathers the American Presidency is an ever changing institution that has no firm hand to guide it as in the Constitution take care clause leaves plenty of leeway for the president to serve the American public.
James Madison and Thomas Jefferson met in 1776
while serving as members of the Virginia House of Delegates.
Think about: A lot of the freedom Americans have faced in their country is based on the thoughts and work of James Madison
Who has lived 250 years ago!
"In Republics, the great danger is,
that the majority may not sufficiently respect
the rights of the minority!"
Missing education is the most |
