is a robust, drought-tolerant twining vine.
It is found in sandy or rocky soils of the South Texas Plains and Edwards Plateau and can grow up to 12 ft.
Stems and leaves have hairs.
The leaves in pearl vine are opposite.

Very special:
A shining pearl in the middle of the blossom, a special structure called a gynostegium. Its made up of fused parts of the stamens and pistil.
In fall its gets a fruit better named follicle.
This fruit is huge when compared to the blossom - and covered with prickles.
